GONZALES — Monterey County, November 3, 2026 election-night report. Constance “Connie” Arellano led Henry Martinez Sr. in a special two-year Gonzales City Council District 4 election at the first election-night checkpoint.
Reported votes
The published tally shows 177 votes (88.94%) for Arellano and 22 (11.06%) for Martinez.
Why this contest or proposal matters
The District 4 seat is a special two-year term, not the same term as the other Gonzales council seats. It is also separate from the city’s mayoral contest, in which Elizabeth Silva held an early lead. Only the county canvass will establish the official result.
Unofficial results, not a new count
The figures are from Monterey County’s 8:30 p.m. November 3 reporting snapshot as published in regional election coverage. This article does not claim a new November 5 tally. Further valid mail, provisional and conditional ballots may be included during the official canvass.
